Friday, 2 May - SIM-UB Orientation
met jieting at tanah merah mrt and we made our way to school together.

orientation started out with the usual admin matters and talks. about the school, about how to do this and that, the important people to note etc etc etc... and well, there was the constant emphasis that we would be going through an American education system. it was continuously being brought up, even when we were having the team-building activities.

after all the talks and a tour around the campus, we made our way down to ITE Simei for the team-building games. sounds kinda dumb, but yes we spent half of our day at ITE Simei. the activities made use of the high elements and adventure course to let us know more about the people around us, and at the same time bring across ideas and concepts of leadership, communication, self-reliance etc etc etc...

oh! the orientation package is like really cool. 2 T-shirts, 1 ring file, 1 pencil case, 1 water bottle, 1 shoebag, 1 towel, 1 gold pin/badge, 1 pen, 1 student handbook, 1 writing pad. all came with the school's name/signature printed on it.


Saturday, 3 May - Scout Guild Campfire
went to Chung Cheng high school in the afternoon.

waited for the rest of my ExCo members to arrive before we started shifting the equipments and setting up the campfire. somehow we didn't really manage to settle the emcee stuff by the start of the campfire, and everything just started going downhill from there.

the lack of plans to clear up resulted in us not knowing what to do when the campfire ended. eventually, we managed to clear up under the instructions by the seniors.

debrief was demoralising. all the mistakes and bad points. sighs.


sorry for the short post. no mood la. plus i've gotta come up with a report bout the campfire. =\
