something i found interesting and worth reading...

taken from Reader's Digest August 2004 issue

How To Get Lucky by Richard Wiseman
Scientific proof that you make your own breaks

For centuries, people have recognized the power of luck and have done whatever they could do to try seizing it. Take knocking on wood thought to date back to pagan rituals aimed at eliciting help from powerful tree gods. We still do it today, though few, if any, of us worship pagan tree gods. So why do we pass this and other superstitions down from generation to generation? The answer lies in the power of luck

    Live a Charmed Life
To investigate scientifically why some people are consistently lucky and others aren’t, I advertised in national periodicals for volunteers of both varieties. Four hundred men and women from all walks of life - ages 18 to 84 - responded.

Over a ten-year period, I interviewed these volunteers, asked them to complete diaries, personality questionnaires and IQ tests, and invited them to my laboratory for experiments. Lucky people, I found, get that way via some basic principles - seizing chance opportunities; creating self-fulfilling prophecies through positive expectations; adopting a resilient attitude that turns bad luck around.

    Open Your Mind
Consider chance opportunities: Lucky people regularly have them; unlucky people don’t. To determine why, I gave lucky people and unlucky people a newspaper, and asked them to tell me how many photos were inside. On average, unlucky people spent about two minutes on this exercise; lucky people spent seconds. Why? Because on the paper’s second page - in big type - was the message “Stop counting: There are 43 photographs in this newspaper.” Lucky people tended to spot the message. Unlucky ones didn’t. I put a second one halfway through the paper: “Stop counting, tell the experimenter you have seen this and win $250.” Again, unlucky people missed it.

The lesson: Unlucky people miss chance opportunities because they are too busy looking for something else. Lucky people see what is there rather than just what they are looking for.
This is only part of the story. Many of my lucky participants tried hard to add variety to their lives. Before making important decisions, one altered his route to work. Another described a way of meeting people. He noticed that at parties he usually talked to the same type of person. To change his, he thought of a colour and then spoke only to guests wearing that colour - women in red, say, or men in black.

Does this technique work? Well, imagine living in the centre of an apple orchard. Each day you must collect a basket of apples. At first, it won’t matter where you look. The entire orchard will have apples. Gradually, it becomes harder to find apples in places you’ve visited before. If you go to new parts of the orchard each time, the odds of finding apples will increase dramatically. It is exactly same with luck.

    Relish the Upside
Another important principle revolved around the way in which lucky and unlucky people deal with misfortune. Imagine representing your country in the Olympics. You compete, do well and win a bronze medal. Now imagine a second Olympics. This time you do even better and win a silver medal. How happy do you think you’d feel? Most of us think we’d be happier after winning the silver medal.

But research suggests athletes who win bronze medals are actually happier. This is because silver medalists think that if they’d performed slightly better, they might have won a gold medal. In contrast, bronze medalists focus on how if they’d performed slightly worse, they wouldn’t have won anything. Psychologists call this ability to imagine what might have happened, rather than what actually happened “counter-factual” thinking.

To find out if lucky people use counter-factual thinking to ease the impact of misfortune, I asked my subjects to imagine being in a bank. Suddenly an armed robber enters and fires a shot that hits them in the arm. Unlucky people tended to say this would be their bad luck to be in the bank during the robbery. Lucky people said it could have been worse: “You could have been shot in the head.” This kind of thinking makes people feel better about themselves, keeps expectations high and increases the likelihood of continuing to live a lucky life.

    Learn to Be Lucky
Finally, I created a series of experiments examining whether thought and behavior can enhance good fortune.

First came one-on-one meetings, during which participants completed questionnaires that measured their luck and their satisfaction with six key areas of their lives. I then outlined the main principles of luck, and described techniques designed to help participants react like lucky people. For instance, they were taught how to be more open to opportunities around them, how to break routines and how to deal with bad luck by imagining things being worse. They were asked to carry out specific exercises for a month and then report back to me.

The results were dramatic: 80 per cent of the participants were happier and more satisfied with their lives - and luckier. One unlucky subject said that after adjusting her attitude - expecting good fortune, not dwelling on the negative - her bad luck had vanished. One day, she went shopping and found a dress she liked, but she didn’t buy it, and when she returned to the store in a week, it was gone. Instead of slinking away disappointed, she looked around and found a better dress - for less. Events like this made her a much happier person.

Her experience shows how thoughts and behavior affect the good and bad fortune we encounter. It proves that the most elusive of holy grails - and effective way of taking advantage of the power of luck - is available to us all.

something which i came across and caught my attention during the AVLC 1-day workshop.

    MURPHY'S LAW.

Murphy's law broadly states that things will go wrong in any given situation, if you give them a chance.

The spirit of this law embodies the the principle of defensive design - anticipating the mistakes the end-user is likely to make.

As for the history and origin of the law, you can go find out yourself. =P

Variations and Corollaries (laugh your ass off over it XD):
    - Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong.
    - Whatever can go wrong will go wrong, and at the worst possible time, in the worst possible way.
    - If there's more than one possible outcome of a job or task, and one of those outcomes will result in disaster or an undesirable consequence, then somebody will do it that way.
    - It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious.
    - If you perceive that there are four possible ways in which something can go wrong, and circumvent these, then a fifth way, unprepared for, will promptly develop.
    - Left to themselves, things tend to go from bad to worse.
    - In nature, nothing is ever right. Therefore, if everything is going right, something is wrong.
    - Nature always sides with the hidden flaw.
    - When working toward the solution of a problem, it always helps if you know the answer. Provided, of course, that you know there is a problem.
    - Every solution breeds new problems.
    Life's Like That...
    - After you bought a replacement for something you've lost and searched for everywhere, you'll find the original.
    - You'll find something in the first place you look, but never discovered on the first attempt.
    - No matter how long or how hard you shop for an item, after you've bought it, it will be on sale somewhere cheaper.
    - The other line always moves faster.
    - Anything dropped in the bathroom will fall in the toilet (or the sink).
    - For any given software, the moment you manage to master it, a new version of that software appears on the market.
    - Any time you put an item in a "safe place", it will never be seen again.
    - You click on the send button, just when your eyes see the mistake on the email.
    - You are only very busy when your boss is not at the office.
    Gravitation...
    - A falling object will always land where it can do the most damage.
    - A shatterproof object will always fall on the only surface hard enough to crack or break it.
    - A paint drip will always find the hole in the newspaper and land on the carpet underneath (and will not be discovered until it has dried).
    - A dropped power tool will always land on the concrete instead of the soft ground (if outdoors) or the carpet (if indoors) - unless it is running, in which case it will fall on something it can damage (like your foot).
    - A valuable dropped item will always fall into an inaccessible place (a diamond ring down the drain, for example) - or into the garbage disposal while it is running.
    - The Murphy Philosophy: Smile... tomorrow will be worse.
    - Murphy's Constant: Matter will be damaged in direct proportion to its value.
well there's like a whole long list that never ends, but i'll stop here.

all information taken from HERE, HERE and HERE. you can read more from those sites. =)

i'll end off with something for you to think about. XD
Silverman's Paradox: If Murphy's law can go wrong, it will.

p.s. Murphy's Law was used to bring out the importance of RAMS (Risk Assessment Management System)

    HANLU: JUNLE I MISS YOU!
    I MISS YOU TOO! =(

    Area Venture Leadership Course (AVLC)
    segment #1: 1 day workshop

1 full day of lectures and talks. zzz. i can't even remember how many speakers there were. =X but i know that the last 2 speakers were better. or at least that's what i feel. basically all of them were talking about leadership (like DUH.), but different sections of the big issue. don't wish to go into details. it's super b-o-r-i-n-g...

anyway today totally killed most of our interest in proceeding on to the next 2 segments (which includes a 2D1N camp & a major project). seriously, the thought of it is just SICKENING. as for those in sec4 or JC (that's like a BIG group of people), i believe most of them are cursing/swearing/crying over it. really sad for them. juggling studies and school with this. haix.

ok now let's move on to some not-so-sad things, to brighten up my mood. LOL!

there was some point in time during the lectures that one of the speakers said something about having the idea of playing chess. he elaborated on how this would be so boring and came up with the reply "huh??? but i only know how to play CHEST" omgosh! those words together with his actions at that moment, it was hilarious. XD

there was another small joke during the briefing for the camp. the dude said something like "you guys will sleep in A-huts, while the girls will sleep with me". wahaha! it sounded so wrong la. well but what he really meant was that the girls would be sleeping in a separate room, different from the guys.

    PSA.
YES? NO? YES? NO? YES? NO? YES? NO? YES? NO? YES? NO? YES? NO? YES? NO? YES? NO? YES? NO? YES? NO? YES? NO? YES? NO? YES? NO? YES? NO? YES? NO? YES? NO? YES? NO? YES? NO? YES? NO? YES? NO? YES? Attitude is Everything
Jerry was the kind of guy you'd love to hate. He was always in a good mood and always had something positive to say. If someone were to ask him how he was doing, he would reply, "If I were any better, I would be twins!"

He was a unique manager because he had several waiters who had followed him around from restaurant to restaurant. The reason the waiters followed Jerry was because of his attitude. He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, Jerry would be there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation.

Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Jerry and asked him, "I don't get it! You can't be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?" Jerry replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, 'Jerry, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose to be in a bad mood.' I choose to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life."

"Yeah, right, it's not that easy," I protested. "Yes, it is," Jerry said. "Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people will affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It's your choice how you live life."

I reflected on what Jerry said. Soon thereafter, I left the restaurant industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.

Several years later, I heard that Jerry did something one is never supposed to do in a restaurant business: he left the back door open one morning and was held up at gunpoint by three armed robbers. While trying to open the safe, his hand, shaking from nervousness, slipped off the combination. The robbers panicked and shot him. Luckily, Jerry was found relatively quickly and rushed to the local trauma center. After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Jerry was released from the hospital with fragments of the bullets still in his body.

I saw Jerry about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was, he replied, "If I were any better, I'd be twins. Wanna see my scars?" I declined to see his wounds, but did ask him what had gone through his mind as the robbery took place. "The first thing that went through my mind was that I should have locked the back door," Jerry replied. "Then, as I lay on the floor, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live, or I could choose to die. I chose to live." "Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?" I asked. Jerry continued, "The paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the emergency room and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read, 'He's a dead man.' "I knew I needed to take action."

"What did you do?" I asked.

"Well, there was a big, burly nurse shouting questions at me," said Jerry.

"She asked if I was allergic to anything. 'Yes,' I replied. The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breathe and yelled, 'Bullets!' Over their laughter, I told them. 'I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead." Jerry lived thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude. I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully. Attitude, after all, is everything.

    Flaws
A water bearer in India had two large pots, each hung on each end of a pole which he carried across his neck. One of the pots had a crack in it, and while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water at the end of the long walk from the stream to the masters house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water in his masters house. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments, perfect to the end for which it was made. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do. After two years of what it perceived to be a bitter failure, it spoke to the water bearer one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, and I want to apologize to you." "Why?" asked the bearer. "What are you ashamed of?" "I have been able, for these past two years, to deliver only half my load because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your masters house. Because of my flaws, you have to do all of this work, and you don't get full value from your efforts." The pot said.

The water bearer felt sorry for the old cracked pot, and in his compassion he said, "As we return to the masters house, I want you to notice the beautiful flowers along the path."

Indeed, as they went up the hill, the old cracked pot took notice of the sun warming the beautiful wild flowers on the side of the path, and this cheered it some. But at the end of the trail, it still felt bad because it had leaked out half its load, and so again the Pot apologized to the bearer for its failure.

The bearer said to the pot, "Did you notice that there were flowers only on your side of your path, but not on the other pots side? That's because I have always known about your flaw, and I took advantage of it. I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back from the stream, you've watered them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate my masters table. Without you being just the way you are, he would not have this beauty to grace his house."

Each of us has our own unique flaws. We are all cracked pots. Don't be afraid of your flaws. Acknowledge them, and you too can be the cause of beauty. Know that in our weakness we find our strength.

Reverie IV is over! it was COOL YO! XD though it was tiring for the dancers.

as for me, the backstage runner, it has been 2 days of PIGGING. =X it's like there were lots of free time for us, so to keep ourselves occupied during those times, we would EAT. chocolates, biscuits, cookies, all the junk and crap. i sense a bout of illness coming my way. i think i'm gonna fall sick very soon. =s

oh yes! the concert T-shirt is like COOL YO! there's like no seams on the sides, which got us year 1 runners rather amazed, thinking how they actually make the shirt. the gold print is NICE! and i'm especially amused by the words on it. "sorry i can't... printed on the front, while ...i've got dance!" printed on the back, together with other stuff. ain't it like COOL and AMUSING at the same time? XD just imagine a case scenario with some1 replying that to a question. wahaha! i just LOVE the shirt. =DD

went to scout shop today. wanted to go and collect my nametag but somehow or other it wasn't ready. like wth, i was so pissed. i placed my order on 5/2, and on that day, the person told me to come back and collect 3 to 4 weeks later. as you can see, today's 20/3 which is like more than 5 weeks already. why the hell isn't it ready? worst of all, the person just said "come back next week". and when i asked specifically which day, his reply was "please call us before you come". HELLO! that didn't answer my question. my goodness i'm suspecting my nametag isn't made at all. =s

walking around bishan was scary, with all the RI and RJC ppl scattered around everywhere. it made me feel... stupid. =x

    Monday.
went to school. like duh. can't really remember what happened, don't really bother. wahaha! after school there was rehearsal for the EL fair skit. it was ddrrraaaaagggggyyyyyyy. kinda had to play the role of an autistic dude that went crazy, and yes it was tough.
proceeded to dance concert rehearsal at around 7pm. CLARIFICATION! i'm NOT performing. i'll be helping out as backstage crew and runners. left school at 9.45pm and ran home.

    Tuesday.
can't really remember what happened. i guess it's just plain and ordinary. =X

    Wednesday. Today.
our plan to rehearse for the skit was foiled, so we had no choice but to do without it. i hope it turned out good. =s 1 of the other groups skit was pretty entertaining, but as for the other 1, i personally found it rather bad. =x skipped PW lecture today, felt kinda weird. lol.
introduction to SC nominees in the afternoon was pretty interesting, esp the q&a session. there were some really good questions, and some of the answers were simply amusing. but everything started to turn boring as it reached the end.
dance concert rehearsal at 7pm. was given more info and details on our jobs. got a chance to watch a nearly full-dress rehearsal. let me tell you, the concert's gonna be GREAT! wahaha! XD left school at ard 10pm.

jeremy: haha i came back at around 6am o.O are you still sick? get well soon
OOPS! hahaha! i was at the airport at around 12++ midnite to fetch my bro home. 6am is like just abt 5 hours later. hahaha! i'm getting alot better. =) saw frm ur tagboard tt YOU're sick. so yep, HAVE A SPEEDY RECOVERY! =)

    HELLO EVERYBODY!!! =D

went out with my parents to airport last night to fetch my bro home. it was kinda FATEFUL that i actually saw 2 of my friends in like that few hours. 1st was sockling at tanah merah mrt station. the 2nd 1 was chermain poon at the airport. how COINCIDENTAL huh.

this morning... went for the 2nd session of NYAA Gold physical recreation aka inline skating/roller-blading @ ECP. the weather today was a whole lot better as compared to 2 weeks ago. but this also meant that the skating ring (that's what i call it) was filled with loads of people. sad! so we decided to blade all over the place. lol! technically it means we were skating along the path with the other bladers, bikers & skateboarders. picture this scene, a group of noobs blading among loads of people, especially pro-bladers. and out of this rather big group, there were quite a few who had difficulty in even balancing on the blades. yes, it was embarrassing. hahaha! actually, i was 1 of the lousiest amongst us. =X there was this rather interesting incident that happened (other than some of us banging into each other XD). i was blading downslope, and i accelerated (like duh, it's NATURAL). as that happened, i was shouting out "help! i don't know how to stop!" like a total retard. then out of the blue, a boy (take note it's a BOY) who was just beside blurted out "use the right heel brake... bla bla bla". cool yo! but sorta embarrassing too. =X

together, we went to PP for lunch after that, other than junliang who left for SYFC. cherlyn sms'ed me at some point in time, to ask me to go church. and after some excuse-giving consideration, i went.

went to TM with minhui and leepeng after that, supposedly to accompany minhui to buy an umbrella. there was a Converse sale happening there, and i was so tempted to buybuybuy. thankfully i managed to hold back those strong desires. x) didn't really walk much in TM. went to the pasar malam just outside to take a look. bumped into hanlu and zoe there, before we left and headed home. missed tanah merah mrt station on our (minhui and i) way back. =_=

people are talking about how their lives are becoming so packed and hectic, how they are stressing out under such intensity.
it's making me worried, seriously worried.
    40+ more days, help!

let's burn all our homework and shout "Hurray!".
ok stoppit. snap back into reality.

tats y it is pure sai

orh... i c i c. yea i know how sh!tty job weeks can be. x) eh v long nv tok to u le. how's evryting coming along?

went to see a doctor today. it's like the 2nd time in this 1 week. had to draw blood for a blood test. it was a funny experience. x) the nurse had tried to draw blood from my left arm first, but i kept shaking and it turned out that the vein had collapsed due to the coldness, thus it failed. the second attempt was much more painful, at the moment when the needle was piercing through my skin. thankfully blood could successfully be drawn from my vein this time. phew.

blood test results came out in the evening. the doc called. turns out that there is some infection found (though can't pinpoint where is the location). suspected to be frontal sinusitis (sounds cheem? look it up on wikipedia. lol.) based on the symptoms.

    neglect and insensitivity.
    i'm sorry.
please don't let this turn out the wrong way.

When I'm Gone by Simple Plan
    We're doing it

    I look around me
But all I seem to see
    Is people going nowhere
    Expecting sympathy

It's like we're going through the motions
    Of a scripted destiny
    Tell me where's our inspiration
    If life won't wait
I guess it's up to me

    Whoah
No we're not gonna waste another moment in this town
    Whoah
We won't come back, the world is calling out
    Whoah
Leave the past in the past gonna find the future
    And misery loves company
    Well so long
You'll miss me when I'm gone
    Ooh. Ooh. Ooh.
You're gonna miss me when I'm gone
    Ooh. Ooh. Ooh.

    Procrastination
    Running circles in my head
    While you sit there contemplating
You're wound up left for dead (left for dead)
    Life is what happens
While you're busy making your excuses

    Another day, another casualty
But that won't happen to me

    Whoah
No we're not gonna waste another moment in this town
    Whoah
We won't come back, the world is calling out
    Whoah
Leave the past in the past gonna find the future

You're gonna miss me when I'm gone
    Ooh. Ooh. Ooh.
    You're gonna miss me when I'm gone~
    When I'm gone~

    Let's go!
    Won't look back
    When I say goodbye
We're gonna leave this whole behind me
    Gonna take what's mine tonight
    'cause every wasted day
    Becomes a wasted chance

You're gonna wake up feeling sorry
    'cause life won't wait
I guess it's up to you

    Whoah
No we're not gonna waste another moment in this town
    Whoah
We won't come back, the world its calling out

high fever since thursday evening, but it doesn't seem to be getting better. =( still had high fever of 38.6°C this morning. sucks totally.

    07032008 Fri
missed school because of my high fever.
afternoon went to SIM open house to find out more about the SIM-UB course. talked to a student and clarified quite afew doubts.
at night went bedok mac to meet up with weixien and other venture scouts.

    08032008 Sat
the following all happened under the effects of Panadol.
1-day Job Week. lol. and it's the day i was fated to meet other scouts. you'll see why. on my way to the bus-stop, i saw a few temasek scouts. at the bus-stop i saw 1 of the adult leaders from temasek sec. (i was just opposite temasek sec) met zhanyi at Eastwood in the morning 10am. did the area of private estates there. our first job was cleaning some water feature and a sofa. as we carried on with the houses there i received a job of painting the ceiling of a toilet. the family was really friendly and we even had a short conversation. oh! this part i must not leave out. as i got accepted for the job, zhan yi walked past the house and flashed $50 to me. i was like O.O. couldn't really believe my eyes, but eventually i confirmed that he indeed got $50, and the worse thing is that it's a DONATION. like WTH. saw 2 VS scouts at some point in time, so we quickly moved on to the row of houses further up. we got a weeding job next. it was terrible. 1. it was under the hot sun. 2. we had to squat down for a long long time 3. we had to use our bare hands. 4. the garden was relatively big. ok maybe not that big. as we were suffering under the hot sun, we saw 2 sea scouts walked past. thus we decided to have lunch & move out of the area after the weeding job.
after lunch, we headed to Bedok Grove. we wanted to try our luck to meet the kind lady whom we met last year, but eventually we didn't manage to. after completing 2 rows of houses, we found out that the area had already been covered by some other scouts (most probably bedok south sec, since it's just directly across the road.). both of us got sian of the place, and zhanyi had nearly hit the target amount, so i moved on to Parbury Avenue while zhanyi pangseh'ed me and went home. at Parbury Avenue, i got a job of cleaning windows. it was kinda cool to be cleaning a 2nd storey room window. i could look over into the neighbouring house. x) walked uphill and entered lucky gardens. saw a group of 3 scouts walking in my direction as i was knocking on a door, so i decided to move out of the area and venture into Tanah Merah Kechil Rd South. saw another temasek scouts adult leader this time. (got to know the adult leaders thru the east area rally) as i crossed the road, i saw something shocking. a car with the s'pore scouts emblem printed on the front. just as i looked into the car, i saw 3 adult scouts and they saluted to me. i was so shocked at that moment that i couldn't react to do anything. i only did 2 units there, before realising that the area had already been covered by some other scouts earlier in the morning. sunburnt at the end of the day.
at night i went to sockling's house for bbq. couldn't really eat anything. =( played games like twister and mm-jiji. lol. tiring but fun at the same time.

    09032008 Sun
woke up with a pounding headache just like the previous 2 days. took my temp. n it was a whopping 38.6°C. took Panadol and went back to sleep after lunch. thankfully my temp. dropped to 37.9°C in the evening. but unfortunately, the headache remained. ugh! went out to meet the group of people going for night cycling (they should be cycling at this moment). sadly i'm physically unfit to join them for the night cycling, so i headed home after settling some stuff.

    fever fever go away

HELLO! haven't talked to you for a long long time. missing you! GOT MISS ME ANOT? XD

HEY PEOPLE! sorry for the lack of updates. internet was down for the nearly the whole week. talking about the internet. it's kind of a weird thing. seems like it knows i should be studying and thus stays down until the weekend arrives. lol! ok i'm thinking too much into it.

AS YOU CAN SEE, currently there is an advertisement in the left coloumn. CLICK IT! i mean like, there's NO harm. moreover, you would be doing me a great favour. relax, it won't tax you or fill your computer with spyware/adware/virus. it's just gonna take up some time, and a LITTLE space from your "temporary internet files". c'mon, help me out over here. ;D

    back to life...
carrying on from where i left off the previous time, it should start from Wed.

Wed and Thu were totally boring. LECTURES, nothing out of the ordinary.

Friday was special. ok, not that special. just DIFFERENT. school started out with a Student Welfare Talk, which apparently had been given a wrong name. it was more of a psycho talk to push us to do certain things. oh whatever, maybe that's just from the school's perspective. Had 1 lecture for that day, then waited for 12.30pm to come. was supposed to borrow blazer together with nienyuan, but eventually we found out there were some procedures to follow. headed to AHS after that. planned to just take a look at combined activity initially, but it turned out that i went to settle some stuff at the GO. it feels great to know the staff in GO. haha! something happened during combined act, n i guess it dampened the spirits of a certain group of people. shan't elaborate. met quite a few sec4'2007 people. =D left AHS at around 3pm and headed back to TJ for dance auditions. i was super nervous just before the auditions started. felt that i could just bang myself straight into the wall and faint on the spot. =s the auditions seemed to past very quickly. the whole process was about learning 3 counts of 8, followed by an additional freestyle for 4 counts of 8 during the "actual dance". at that moment, the pressure + the anxiety simply caused my mind to go blank, resulting in retarded freestyle actions. how embarrassing. felt like a loser when the auditions ended. =\ but at the same time anxious to know the results.

spent my Sat morning together with other Ventures at ECP doing our NYAA physical recreation. it drizzled when we got to ECP, so we had to wait for the weather to get better. we got rollerblade eventually, and nearly all of us appeared like noobs on skates (actually we ARE noobs. XD). i found it kinda fun, though it's frustrating not being able to learn the right way of braking. lol. came home in the afternoon and i fell sick. how shitty is that. rotted the rest of my day away. something great happened at night though. i received an sms. it was the results for the dance auditions. I HAD BEEN SELECTED TO JOIN TJ MODERN DANCE CLUB!
    I'M IN DANCE!!! =DD

woke up feeling alot better today, though my nose is still blocked and i'm still coughing. i've been a bad boy for today. make some inferences and draw some conclusions from that sentence. ;)

    sometimes solutions aren't so simple.
